History of ČKD
- dates back into the distant past
- it was founded by entrepreneur and scientist Emil Kolben
- together with Nikola Tesla and Thomas Alva Edison he was one of the pioneers of the global development of electrical engineering
- at 34 he established a small company named Kolben a spol. in the Vysočany quarter of Prague
- Českomoravská–Kolben–Daněk – ČKD was established in 1927 by merging with První českomoravská továrna to stroje Breitfeld-Daněk in Prague
- ČKD always has been and still remains a successful brand on the Czech and global markets
