The Brno branch of ČKD PRAHA DIZ concluded a contract at the start of this year with TAMERO INVEST s.r.o. from the Synthos Group which is worth CZK 97 million. On the basis of this, a new gas turbine will be fitted during the course of this year and next year and exhaust gas will be channelled to the existing K1 boiler in the Synthos Kralupy a.s. chemical plant in Kralupy nad Vltavou.
“The STG700 combustion turbine with an output of 35MWe will be located in the boiler room in place of the original K2 boiler. In terms of the process, we will be connecting it to the cooling system and to the gas pipe and other essential technologies. We will also be ensuring calculation, design and delivery of exhaust pipes which are led into the existing K1 boiler. Modifications will be made there on the burner housings and the waste heat gained will be reused to produce steam. We should be setting the whole system into operation in 2014” said Leoš Zahrádka, Director of the Brno branch of ČKD PRAHA DIZ describing the technological process.
